U.K. singer/songwriter, James Blake, is back yet again with another cover song! Following the release of two great 2020 singles, “You’re Too Precious”, and “Are You Even Real?”, we have Blake’s next entry in his growing list of 2020 releases.

In the past, he has covered songs such as Don McLean’s “Vincent”, or Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You”, or Bill Withers’ “Hope She’ll Be Happier”, but this is one of the only times we have heard him cover a more recent song. Not only that, but it is a cover of a Frank Ocean song, another artist who is definitely a stylistic contemporary of Blake.

Overall, I feel the song fits Blake’s particular style very well. It has the heartfelt, vulnerable nature that he often brings to his original material, it has the stripped down piano instrumentals, and gives him yet another chance to show off the absolutely gorgeous falsetto vocals he has.
